Extraction guidance
Understand what PDF text extraction can recover
PDF files can contain selectable text, scanned page images, complex columns or embedded fonts. Extraction works best when the original document includes a real text layer in a clear reading order.
Selectable versus scanned PDFs
If text can be selected in a normal PDF viewer, it can usually be extracted. A scanned document may only contain images of words and therefore needs OCR, which this browser tool does not pretend to perform.
Check reading order
Multi-column pages, tables, footnotes and positioned labels may appear in a different sequence after extraction. Compare important passages with the source PDF and correct spacing or line breaks before reusing the text.
Reuse content responsibly
Text extraction is useful for personal notes, accessibility and documents you are allowed to process. Copyright, confidentiality and permission still apply even when the technical extraction happens locally in the browser.
Accuracy note: always verify names, amounts, dates and legal wording against the original PDF. Extracted text is a convenience copy, not a certified reproduction of the document.
